My first photographs were developed by hand in my grandfather's darkroom. I remember the acrid smell of chemicals, the amber glow of the safelight, the quiet wonder of watching an image materialize in the developer tray. I didn't fully grasp what I was witnessing—only that it felt like witnessing something sacred, and I never wanted that moment to end.
That was the beginning. Nearly two decades later, I'm still chasing that same feeling. I'm Art, the photographer behind Arteur Studio. I work with couples throughout Toronto, the GTA, Niagara, and beyond, creating wedding photography, portraits, and boudoir work with the same focused passion I brought to my grandfather's darkroom as a child. The techniques have evolved. The hunger hasn't.
I work primarily with natural light. I’m drawn to the quiet moments as much as the grand ones — the way a father exhales just before he walks his daughter down the aisle, the stolen look between partners during a first dance that no one else catches. Those are the frames I live for.
Before every wedding, I take the time to actually know you. Not just your timeline and your venue — you. Because the most honest images come from genuine connection, and genuine connection takes more than a questionnaire.
I believe that the best wedding photographs don’t happen because of a pose or a preset. They happen because two people forgot the camera was there — because they were too busy being completely, overwhelmingly present with each other.
