Nearly two decades behind the camera. Still obsessed with the light.
My first photographs were developed by hand in my grandfather’s darkroom. I remember the smell of the chemicals, the amber safelight, the strange miracle of an image slowly appearing in the tray. I didn’t fully understand what I was witnessing — only that it felt like magic, and I didn’t want it to stop.
That was the beginning. Nearly two decades later, I’m still chasing that feeling. I’m Art — the photographer behind Arteur Studio. I work with couples across Toronto, the GTA, Niagara, and beyond, photographing weddings, portraits, and boudoir with the same quiet intensity I brought to that darkroom as a kid. What’s changed is the craft. What hasn’t is the obsession.
I work primarily with natural light. I’m drawn to the quiet moments as much as the grand ones — the way a father exhales just before he walks his daughter down the aisle, the stolen look between partners during a first dance that no one else catches. Those are the frames I live for.
Before every wedding, I take the time to actually know you. Not just your timeline and your venue — you. Because the most honest images come from genuine connection, and genuine connection takes more than a questionnaire.
I believe that the best wedding photographs don’t happen because of a pose or a preset. They happen because two people forgot the camera was there — because they were too busy being completely, overwhelmingly present with each other.
